The Waswa Balunywa Leadership Academy is proud to announce the launch of "Women Lead Tomorrow" – a comprehensive 6-month leadership program specifically designed for young women aged 18-25. The program will provide mentorship from top female executives, leadership workshops, and community project funding.

Key highlights include: Monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions, access to a network of 50+ successful women leaders, a fully funded community impact project, and a certificate in Leadership Excellence. Applications are open until April 30, 2026.

AKB Hospital Expands Maternity Wing

New state-of-the-art maternity facilities now open to serve more mothers and newborns...

AKB Hospital has officially opened its expanded maternity wing, doubling capacity from 20 to 50 beds. The new facility includes modern labor suites, a specialized neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and 24/7 emergency obstetric care.

The expansion was made possible through generous donations from partners and community members. Since opening, the hospital has already welcomed over 100 newborns in the first month alone.

New services include: Free prenatal classes, postnatal support groups, and a "Safe Motherhood" scholarship program for low-income families. The hospital aims to reduce maternal mortality in the region by 40% over the next two years.

Community Health Outreach Success

Free medical camp reaches over 500 community members in rural areas...

The Waswa Balunywa Foundation's quarterly health outreach camp served over 500 patients in the remote villages of Iganga District. Services included free consultations, malaria testing, HIV counseling, and distribution of essential medicines.

A team of 15 medical professionals volunteered their time, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. The outreach also provided health education sessions on family planning, nutrition, and hygiene practices.

Impact highlights: 120 children received deworming treatment, 80 pregnant women received prenatal vitamins, and 200 households received mosquito nets. The next outreach is scheduled for May 2026.
