New state-of-the-art maternity facilities now open to serve more mothers and newborns...
AKB Hospital has officially opened its expanded maternity wing, doubling capacity from 20 to 50 beds. The new facility includes modern labor suites, a specialized neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and 24/7 emergency obstetric care.
The expansion was made possible through generous donations from partners and community members. Since opening, the hospital has already welcomed over 100 newborns in the first month alone.
New services include: Free prenatal classes, postnatal support groups, and a "Safe Motherhood" scholarship program for low-income families. The hospital aims to reduce maternal mortality in the region by 40% over the next two years.
